PhD. Heillyn Camacho
CEO & Senior Researcher
Learning designer and change maker
Heillyn Camacho is the founder and CEO of Consufé. With a PhD in Human Centered Communication and Informatics, she brings deep expertise in designing innovative and meaningful learning experiences. Her work centers on materiality, participation, and dialogue as tools to make sense of complexity and support educational transformation.
Heillyn has contributed to a range of international projects focused on active learning, creative thinking, and institutional change across Latin America, Africa, and Europe.
In addition to her project work, Heillyn has over 20 years of teaching experience. She has taught at bachelor, master, and doctoral levels in Denmark and Costa Rica, focusing on topics such as design thinking, participatory design, change management, and active learning. She is currently an external lecturer at Aalborg University, Denmark, and actively contributes to professional development programs across international educational institutions.

PhD. Mayela Coto
Senior Researcher
Expert in Computer Science Education, Curriculum Development, and Educational Technology
Mayela Coto is a senior researcher at Consufé, with extensive experience in computer science, education, and curriculum development. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Centered Communication and Informatics and served as a researcher and full professor at the National University of Costa Rica for over 30 years. She is currently retired from active teaching.
Throughout her career as a computer scientist, she has pursued diverse lines of research in education, focusing on communities of practice, educational technology, computer science pedagogy, curriculum development, gender gaps in computing careers, the emotional impact on programming learning, and the use of ICTs for the cognitive well-being of older adults.
She has been recognized by the National Council of University Rectors (CONARE) and the Embassy of Italy in Costa Rica as a distinguished Costa Rican scientist. With more than three decades of experience in higher education at both undergraduate and graduate levels, she has authored numerous publications in books, journals, and national and international conferences.
